Brave New Worlds designs and implements cutting-edge Internet technologies for businesses with unique needs. When the scope and elements of the project have been defined, and the business strategies are in place, our engineers combine technical knowledge and creative genius to build a robust and flexible code infrastructure for your particular needs. With our strong commitment to open source software technology, our customers receive technology focused on solutions with the source code to make the modifications to customize it for their business process. We take technology and design it around business needs.
The world of technology changes at an unprecedented speed, with new languages, servers, operating system releases, design strategies and business models pouring across the Internet every day. The engineers at BNW keep abreast of these changes, and build experimental proof-of-concept sites designed to evaluate new technologies.
In addition to new technologies, the engineering of BNW relies on proven skills and software to deploy a web system more quickly than building it from the ground up. With these codes and expertise, we can build sites with giant technology advantages in less development time, and less calendar time, than firms with less developed programming departments.
With committed in house development, BNW has developed some unique technologies, which we have released back to the open source community. These include our Symphero e-commerce and the Xao Clearingpoint Server. BNW engineers have expertise in the following softeware and systems.
We provide a broad range of professional services on both open source and commercial software systems. We offer support and development services for the following products and technologies.
- Apache Webserver
- IBM WebSphere Application Server
- IBM WebSphere Commerce Suite Pro
- IBM DB2
- IBM MQSeries
- MySQL
- PostgreSQL
- Oracle E-Business Suite
- Oracle 9i
- Xao Clearingpoint Server
Additionally we offer custom development services in the following languages:
BNW Software
BNW supports a wide variety of commercial products, but we also have some great software products developed inhouse to support our customers needs.
Symphero 3.2
Symphero is an open source software e-commerce package. Designed as a commerce, content and customer management system, it is based on the Apache web server, is written in PERL and supports various backend databases. It has been deployed in a wide number of industries and is available under the FreeBSD License.
Clearingpoint Server
Clearingpoint Server is Xao Inc.'s next-generation software technology. The Xao Clearingpoint Server provides an application infrastructure that enables businesses to implement remote data interchange with external partners. The Xao Clearingpoint Server also solves the problem of integrating dissimilar enterprise applications across multiple remote and autonomous business units within a business domain.
CP Foundation Server
The CP Foundation Server provides storage, search and retrieval facilities for all other Clearingpoint system components. Data are stored in a format-neutral object style, with replication, fail-over and indexing considerations automated for all other components.
CP Reporting Server
The CP Reporting Server provides a series of tools for collecting statistical information from data stored in the Foundation Server, along with templated facilities for visualizing the information in a variety of popular layouts.
CP Commerce
CP Commerce provides user tools for managing shopping or procurement experiences, including search engine facilities, personalization and account management, and shipping integration in a web-based package.
CP Exporter
Allows information from Foundation Server to be piped to servers using other formats for batch processing or archival by external systems.
CP Messaging Server
Controls message flow between partners, including data type and frequency of communication updates. The messaging server also can stipulate document flow and contains business process information.
CP Application Adaptors
Enables data stored in the Foundation server to be piped to existing applications, such as ERP systems, shipping and accounting systems, etc. Provides facilities for importing information from those same existing applications.
CP XML Translation Filters
Used internally, these filters translate from an existing document format (including alternate flavors of XML) to standard XML formats. They are useful for taking data from legacy systems, translating for inclusion in legacy systems or translating between different standards.
CP Application Construction Classes
The CP Application Construction Classes are a documented set of APIs and objects that an integrator can use to rapidly develop client/server applications using a web-based front end. These classes are also used in most other components to provide a uniform architecture, which promotes code reuse.
Appgen to PERL Library
We recently completed a project that required the use of the Appgen
ERP system. To support it we built a Appgen to PERL bridge which allows you to directly integrate with the ERP system.
Download our Appgen to PERL library here.
Our development methodology is the Xao Rapid Development Methodology which is based in Extreme Programming.
